From Old to New: The Swimming Pond in a Natural Garden

A large Swimming Pond has been created in the centre of Hagen in a garden with mature trees. The aim was for the Swimming Pond to blend naturally into the garden. The old water lily pool, which is located above, was converted into a mineral filter and plant zone. The water is pumped from the large pond into the mineral filter and then runs into the main pond via a small stream. The spacious swimming area measures 20 x 5 metres. The swimming area was edged with shell limestone blocks, and access is via stepping slabs and a staircase of block steps. A remarkable diversity of species developed around the new pond in a very short time.
